Speaker: Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock

The Rotary Club of Carolina Forest Sunrise was proud to host Chief Amy Prock, Chief of Police for the City of Myrtle Beach and her Public Information Officer, Cpl. Chris Starling.

Chief Prock is a 28 year veteran of the force and is a native of Alexandria, Virginia. She was promoted to Chief in 2017. She is about to send her third child off to college this fall.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department currently employs 272 officers and has fifty-two vacancies. The Department has multiple divisions including, Administration (training/regulatory), Investigative, Patrol, Special Operations and Beach Patrol.

Chief Prock chairs the Coordinated Effort which is a meeting of all social service nonprofits focusing on homelessness, transportation, employment, education, etc. Education on the opioid epidemic is a priority for the Department as well as these other agencies.
We ran out of time to ask all the questions we wanted to of this distinguished guest, so hopefully we can have her back again!
