The Carolina Forest Rotary Club was proud to present a donation of $500 to Meals on Wheels of Horry & Georgetown County. This gift is going towards their Building Fund as Meals on Wheels has about 50 days left to find their new home. In just the past year, Meals on Wheels has gone from serving 300 meals per week to 2,500, an 800% increase. Meals on Wheels is also facing a 100% increase on rent, and staff is looking to build a “forever home” that will be used for generations to come.
Meals on Wheels is a locally funded 501(c)3 that delivers meals to 400+ forgotten Seniors across Horry and Georgetown Counties. Each week recipients include at no charge:
- 5 meals a week with a scripture on each meal
- a weekly devotional
- access to care team visits
- special deliveries
In addition to the search of a new building, more ways to give include:
- sponsoring a local grandparent
- donating a food item
- donation a logistical need
