Mark Shaaber joined the Carolina Forest Sunrise Rotary to lead a program of Partnership Grand Strand and Economic Growth for Myrtle Beach. Partnership Grand Strand (PGS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation and a five-year strategic initiative designed to accelerate economic prosperity and quality of life for all businesses and residents across Horry and Georgetown counties. There mission is to proactively address the biggest challenges facing the Grand Strand, including its long-term economic growth and quality of life. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce launched the Partnership Grand Strand foundation in 2022.
Developed from hundreds of pages of data and the feedback from more than 100 of the region’s top business and community leaders and subject matter experts, Partnership Grand Strand has identified four key pillars and 11 initiatives to achieve one core goal:
Accelerate the economic prosperity and enhance the quality of life for all businesses and residents across the Grand Strand.
Partnership Grand Strand hopes to accelerate the prosperity of our region around four pillars which are all interconnected to create synergy. No single pillar of the Partnership Grand Strand initiative can advance our mission alone. Those 4 pillars are:
Prosperity: Lead efforts to diversify our economy & grow small business
Talent: Attract, develop & retain a high-quality workforce
Place: Support the revitalization of downtown & the oceanfront
Infrastructure: Advocate for scaling up our transportation infrastructure
