Friends of the Forest – Lauren Oman Zuschlag
Lauren hails from Greenville, Pennsylvania which is equidistant between
Pittsburgh and Cleveland. She is an alumnus of Ithaca College and is a fundraiser
for the Slippery Rock University (Pa.) Foundation.
Lauren was a member of the Greenville Rotary Club before she and her husband
(and Rotary member) Jared moved to Carolina Forest about 4 years ago with 1-
year-old Bryson. She joined Rotary to make “connections with like minded
people”, that want to provide service to the community. Lauren also volunteers for
Help 4 Kids and with St. Philip’s Lutheran Church. She is the current President-Elect of
the Carolina Forest Rotary Club and will embark on her year as Club President
beginning July 1, 2020.
When asked about the new “Rotary Virtual Food Drive” project, Lauren noted,
“People are going through something we’ve never seen before. It is essential that
we (Rotary) help!”
Lauren likes the family atmosphere of the Carolina Forest Rotary Club and that
everyone “gets along well”. There are also diverse and interesting backgrounds
among club members.
