Speaker: Becky Large with Champion Autism Network (CAN)

Steven Manz introduced our speaker, Becky Large, the Executive Director of the Champion Autism Network (CAN). She is a marketing and PR professional, graduating from Rutgers University. Originally from New Jersey, she moved to Surfside Beach in 2012 and launched CAN. It was later incorporated as a Non-Profit in 2012. CAN was recognized as The Non-Profit of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce in 2018. CAN’s mission is to promote and enable a world where all people living with autism can live, work, and play without judgement, guilt, or worry through the education and empowerment of communities, businesses, and organizations. The CAN Card Club is the AAA card of autism travel and services. There is a QR code that takes the card holder to a webpage that lists participating businesses. The Card provides families with an easy, dignified way of helping merchants identify an autism family. It lets merchants know that you may not want to sit them in the middle of the commotion, near bright lights, etc. Looking forward, CAN is dedicated to increasing its reach by leveraging business and autism organizations; increasing special events and social opportunities; spreading autism awareness and acceptance; and providing more sensory friendly events for families with an autistic member. Becky can be contacted for more information or for becoming a strategic partner, corporate sponsor, or supporter by calling her on (843) 321 8891 or by emailing her at becky@championautismnetwork.com.
